The European Pit Bull Breeders Club was established by a group of
breeders and fanciers of the dog breed American
Pit Bull Terrier, who felt the need to promote and
protect it at both national and international level.
This
organization takes roots from the experience of the Working
Pit Bull Club Italia founded
on September 1999 as the first organization created to
defend the image of the American
Pit Bull Terrier and value it for social,
assistential, recreational, therapeutic and sport
purposes. Getting strength from this experience and
spurred by supporters from other European countries we
felt the need to create a club for gathering all
breeders and fanciers of the breed in order to provide
greater highlight to social utility qualities of the American
Pit Bull Terrier.
Important initiative was the creation of a database
for issuing European pedigrees from first registration
to a 7 generation pedigree. Pedigrees are made only in
English. Unlike other certifications, for instance
A.D.B.A., in our pedigrees, beside family trees, all
results from work and utility tests are recorded as
well as all certificates obtained by subjects
belonging to the breed American
Pit Bull Terrier (visiting dog, pet-therapy dog,
agility dog, B.H. patent, Good Citizen Dog patent,
Civil Protection, endurance test, mondioring, aptitude
tests etc…). all work and behavioural tests are
recorded in the database. Useless to say how useful an
accurate documentation can be when defending the
American Pit Bull Terrier in case of controversies and
inadequate and inappropriate laws, as it often occurs.
We invite all those who love and want to protect this
breed to join in. In some European countries we have
already members representing the club and we wish many
others will join in supporting this initiative, for it
to become ‘OUR REGISTRY’.
